Sinkhole discovered in Hamden; emergency repairs expected to continue through Saturday: Police

A sinkhole was found at the intersection of Brook Street, Pine Rock Avenue and Gorham Avenue, Mayor Lauren Garrett said. The intersection is closed during repairs.

HAMDEN, Conn. — Emergency repairs for a sinkhole in Hamden took place all day Thursday and are expected to continue through Saturday, the town's police department said.

Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett said in a post on Facebook at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday that a sinkhole was found at the intersection of Brook Street, Pine Rock Avenue and Gorham Avenue.

Public works crews worked on repairs all day Thursday. Police said that the intersection is closed while the repairs are underway.

Repairs are to continue Friday and the area is expected to reopen Saturday, according to the police department.
