MERIDEN, Conn — A former Meriden schools employee has been charged with risk of injury to a minor after police said she exchanged inappropriate text messages with a middle school student.
Police said on October 29, the Special Crimes Unit began an investigation into a report of inappropriate text messages exchanged between a Lincoln Middle School student and a former school Climate Specialist.
A Climate Specialist assists the school's administrative staff with creating a positive environment.
Police said after multiple interviews and forensic examination of cell phones an arrest warrant was applied for and granted.
Last Thursday, Tamara Johnson, 37, turned herself in and was arrested on one felony count of Risk of Injury to a Minor/Impairing the Morals of a Minor. Johnson was released on $25,000 bond.
