NORTH HAVEN, Conn. — Police in North Haven said their officers worked together with those from neighboring Wallingford and Meriden to solve the burglary Wednesday morning of a liquor store.

According to police, an alarm sounded at Sav Rite Liquors on 117 Washington Avenue at 4:30 a.m. after someone smashed the store's front window and stole items from the store. The liquor store is located in the Washington Commons retail plaza.

With information developed by North Haven detectives working the midnight shift, Wallingford police located and detained Jeffrey Nanfito, 57, of Meriden. Police in North Haven say Nanfito had items in his possession linking him to the burglary.

After Nanfito was processed at Meriden's police headquarters for unrelated charges, he was taken to the North Haven police department and charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Larceny 6th Degree, and Burglary 3rd Degree.
