MERIDEN, Conn. — A person who was found dead after being hit by a car in Meriden Wednesday night, has been identified according to the police department.
Luis Mulero, 53 was killed in the crash. His last known address was in Hartford.
Officers arrived onto North Broad Street at 7:35 p.m. after receiving a report of a person hit by a car. Police said a male was found dead at the scene.
Connecticut State Police closed off the entrance to Route 15 North from Interstate 691 to prevent any traffic going onto the Berlin Turnpike northbound during the investigation, police said.
Meriden police said they also have the entrance to the Berlin Turnpike on North Broad Street closed on Broad Street, preventing northbound side from going onto the Berlin Turnpike.
Police are asking drivers to find an alternative route during the closures.
The cause of the crash, and whether the driver of the car that hit the person remained on the scene, is currently unknown.
More information is expected to be released at a later time, according to Meriden police.
