NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The New Haven Police Department reported Friday night that a fatal shooting occurred in the city earlier that evening.
According to New Haven police, a 56-year-old resident of the city was shot and killed at the Bella Vista housing complex on Eastern Street. It is unclear if he was a resident of the high rise building.
New Haven police confirmed that the incident had developed into a homicide investigation with a post on X at 6:46 p.m.
