NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Connecticut State Police investigated several bomb threats made around the state to synagogues and airports on Friday. All of the threats made were found to be not credible, state police said.
Tweed New Haven Airport received an "email bomb threat" that said bombs were placed in every airport in Connecticut, according to Daniel Velez, a spokesperson for TSA New England Region.
Connecticut State Police K-9 units conducted a sweep of the state's airports with nothing substantial found.
"TSA and DHS are in close and ongoing touch with all of our airport, airline and law enforcement partners, and will continue to monitor these situations and may adjust security postures as (or when) necessary," Velez said.
There was also a bomb threat made to a cemetery on 701 Whalley Ave., adjacent to the Holocaust Memorial, according to New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker's office.
It is not clear if any of these bomb threats are connected to each other or are related to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
State police's four bomb squads are working to address the reported threats. The FBI will handle any resulting investigations.
