NEW HAVEN, Conn. — State Police said they have arrested a former Department of Transportation employee is accused of making an obscene comment over a DOT radio system.
Luis Ortiz, 46, of Bridgeport, was charged with Breach of Peace in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Trespass in the 3rd Degree.
Police said on July 11, a number of state employees heard an unidentified voice accuse two people by name of being racist and used obscene language in the transmission.
Following an investigation, police said they determined that Ortiz had gained access to the fenced in area and was seen by several of his former coworkers. Other former coworkers recognized his voice over the radio.
Police said in an interview, Ortiz admitted to entering the yard and making the radio call.
He was released on a written promise to appear and is scheduled for arraignment at New Haven Superior Court on Sept. 26.
