NEW HAVEN, Conn — A person riding a scooter died Tuesday after colliding with a vehicle in New Haven last month.
New Haven police were called to the intersection of Whalley Ave. and Amity Road just after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, for a report of a person on a scooter being hit by a vehicle.
Responding officers found the scooter operator unresponsive at the intersection. The vehicle that hit the scooter drove away from the scene, police said. Police did not find the vehicle after a search, officials said.
The victim has been identified as Priyanshu Agwal, 23, of West Haven.
Witnesses told investigators that the vehicle was traveling west and the scooter was traveling east when they collided in the intersection, police said.
Police continue to look for the vehicle and driver involved.
