3 businesses 'ransacked' in New Haven: Police

Police were called to a restaurant early Thursday morning on a burglary alarm. When they got there, they found more than one business had been broken into.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven police are investigating multiple burglaries at area businesses early Thursday morning. 

Officers were called to the Viñas Wine & Tapas restaurant on Orange Street just after 4 a.m. on a burglar alarm. When they got to the business, they found that two other nearby businesses were burglaries. 

According to officials, Elm City Games and Ninth Street Market had broken windows, and their interiors appeared to have been ransacked. 

Investigators were called to the scene as well, and detectives are processing the multiple burglary scenes. 

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the burglaries or who may have information that will help investigators to call detectives at 203-946-6304 or the department's anonymous tip line at 866-888-TIPS (8477).
