NEW HAVEN, Conn. — New Haven police are investigating a fatal shooting in the city Monday.
At 3:20 p.m., police said they received a 911 call about a shooting that took place in a back lot in the area of George Street and Winthrop Avenue.
Police said a 25-year-old man from New Haven died from his injuries after he was shot in the chest. Neither the suspect or the victim have been identified at this time.
Investigators believe that the suspect knew the victim, approached a vehicle and fired gunshots. Police said the incident may have originated from a dispute.
