NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Officials celebrated the re-opening of the New Haven Pride Center on Thursday.
Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker and other city leaders cut the ribbon on the new facility.
The new center is located at 50 Orange Street is larger and more accessible and includes a food pantry, a community closet, and more.
They offer support groups for members of the LGBTQ+ Community, such as Trans Adults, Queer Latine, Bisexuals, and Rainbow Elders in addition to other support groups.
The organization occupied the space last month, and the ribbon cutting was on Wednesday. The center is located in a former retail-type space with street access, whereas the former was in the basement of an office building.
