NEW HAVEN, Conn. — A man is recovering after being shot while two suspects tried to break into his vehicle in New Haven overnight Thursday, according to police.

Two people tried to break into the victim's work van, and when the victim tried to stop them, one of the suspects shot the victim in the leg, according to police.
The suspects left in a vehicle, and police did not find them after a search around the area.
Detectives found evidence of gunfire at the scene and plan to process the victim's van, as the investigation continues.
