NAUGATUCK, Conn. — A man accused of sexually assaulting a child in Naugatuck has been found in Georgia, according to police.
Naugatuck police have been searching for Jamel Young, 53, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl while staying in town, according to police. Police announced their search for Young last month on social media.
Police in Georgia found Young at a home in Brunswick and arrested him Monday, Naugatuck police said.
Young is in custody in Georgia and will be brought back to Connecticut at a later date. Once Young returns to Connecticut, he will face the following charges: attempted sexual assault, sexual assault and risk of injury to a child. His bond will be set to $750,000.
The FBI in New Haven assisted in this arrest, Naugatuck police said.
