5 injuries reported after car crashes into Bruegger's Bagels in Wallingford

The car went straight through the store at 970 North Colony Road.

WALLINGFORD, Conn. — Five people were injured Friday when a car went into the storefront of Bruegger's Bagels at 970 North Colony Road

Wallingford police dispatch confirmed at least five men were injured, some seriously, and taken to the hospital. The call came in at 9:48 a.m.

The store is located in a smaller building as part of a larger plaza. It occupies one end of the structure. It has windows on the east and south sides that  have parking areas. Officials said the car went in the west side and traveled diagonally, nearly exiting the building on the south side . 

Police said a 63-year-old woman was driving the Jeep Grand Cherokee at the time of the crash. She is cooperating with police. All the people injured were adults. No employees were injured.
