WATERBURY, Conn. — A woman was fatally stabbed in a Waterbury home Friday morning, and her husband is now facing charges in her murder.
Around 5 a.m. Friday, police were called to a home on the 700 block of East Main Street for a report of a domestic disturbance.
Responding officers found a 43-year-old woman with a stab wound in her neck. She was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.
Police also found Allen Bell, 35, who is the husband of the victim, according to officials. A 5-year-old child lived in the home with the two. The child was present and not harmed during the incident, police said. The child has since been placed in the custody of Dept. of Children and Families.
Bell was arrested and charged with murder and risk of injury to a minor. He was held on a $1 million bond and arraigned in court Friday.
Waterbury police encourage those in domestic violence situations to reach out to CT Safe Connect at 1-888-774-2900 for help.
