WATERBURY, Conn. — Extreme heat in Connecticut's forecast prompted Waterbury Public Schools to announce an early dismissal for Wednesday, according to the district's website.
FOX61's forecast projects Wednesday to be "very warm and humid" with a high of "mid to upper 80s."
All schools in the Waterbury Public Schools district will run on an early dismissal schedule as a result of the heat, which can be found here.
Extracurricular activities for Wednesday have also been cancelled, the district said.
The announcement comes a day after Waterbury students began their first day back.
