WATERBURY, Conn — Waterbury police have released the identity of the woman who was killed ina crash Tuesday.
Sandra Sanga Paguay, 46, of Waterbury died and another driver was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.
A Subaru Forester collided head-on with a box truck on Lakewood Road between Massachusetts Avenue and Hamden Road around 5:42 a.m.
Police said the driver of one vehicle was removed from their vehicle by Waterbury Fire Department. She had serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Lakewood Road was closed throughout the morning commute while the crash was being investigated and cleared. The scene has since been cleared and reopened to traffic.
