WATERBURY, Conn. — A 19-year-old Waterbury man is the second arrest made in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Joseph Zavala last month, police said Wednesday.
Nigel Robinson, 19, of Waterbury is facing multiple charges, Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Carrying a Pistol Without A Permit, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Use of a Firearm for fatally shooting Zavala on Nov. 18.
According to police, they received a report around 7:30 p.m. of a teenager being dropped off at the emergency room at Saint Mary’s Hospital in the city with a gunshot wound. He died from his injuries at the hospital.
An investigation revealed the shooting happened in the area of North Main Street at Kingsbury Street. The events leading up to the shooting have not been released.
Robinson was held on a $3 million bond and was expected to be arraigned Wednesday. Additional arrests are expected, this is an active and ongoing investigation.
