WATERBURY, Conn. — Six teenagers were arrested Friday night after a fight broke out during a high school football game at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury, according to city police.
Police officers assigned to provide security at the Derby vs. Wilby High School game responded around 8:20 p.m. after several teenage spectators got into a fight. The responding officers intervened to break up the fight and arrested some of the teens involved, police said. More arrests were made after teens instigated further fights and would not listen to police orders to stop, police said.
Two 15-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy were arrested and charged with assault, breach of peace, and interfering with police. The 17-year-old and one of the 15-year-olds were also charged with inciting a riot.
A 15-year-old girl, a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old were also arrested and charged with breach of peace and interfering with police.
These fights remain under Waterbury police investigation.
