WATERBURY, Conn. — A third person has been charged with the death of a Waterbury man in December, police said.
Police arrested a 17-year-old on Tuesday, charging him with murder and conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery. Due to his age, the police did not mention his name.
The teen joins two others, 18-year-old Christopher Ortiz, who was arrested on Jan. 25, and 18-year-old Jeremey Rivera, who was arrested on Dec. 22, 2023. Both were also charged with murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and robbery.
The arrests and charges stem from a shooting on Dec. 18, 2023. Just after 4:30 p.m., Waterbury police were called to an area outside of a home on Kenyon Street on the report of a man lying in the roadway. The report stated the man had been shot.
When police got there, they found 22-year-old Jordan Robinson, who had multiple gunshot wounds. He was unresponsive and rushed to St. Mary's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from his injuries.
Police have not released the circumstances that led up to the shooting at this time.
The 17-year-old was held on a $3.5 million bond and is expected in court Wednesday.
