WATERBURY, Conn. — The car used in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Waterbury on Saturday was identified by investigators Tuesday, according to the city's police department.
According to police, the car suspected to have been used in the collision that killed Dwayne Hunter, 46, of Waterbury, is a four-door Honda Accord between the years of 2003-2007, with damage to its front and a possible missing driver side mirror.
The police department included photos of the suspect's car in a Facebook post here.
Police said the officers went to Chase Avenue around 2 a.m. on Saturday after receiving a report of a man who had been hit by a car and found Hunter lying in the roadway. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.
The car that hit Hunter had left the scene, police said.
The Waterbury Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating and anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact them at 203-346-3975.
