Officers determined through a preliminary investigation that Ciola had been driving a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, going north on Amity Road at the time of the crash. For an unknown reason, the Wrangler went off-road and collided with a tree before resting on its side in a wooded area.

The area of North Pease Road was closed off for several hours but has since reopened. Police said that anyone with information relating to the crash is asked to give them a call at 203-387-2511.
