WOODBRIDGE, Conn. — Help is needed to find the owners of three dogs that were found "underweight and emaciated" in Woodbridge, according to the town's animal control.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the animal control shelter said that the dogs, 3 female pitbulls, were found on Rimmon Road and traveling along Johnson and Ansonia roads.
"All 3 were found extremely underweight and emaciated with some open sores," according to the animal control shelter.
Desmond's Army, a group of law advocates for abused animals, helped to provide critical veterinary care for the dogs that were found.
The animal control shelter said that the dogs are currently not up for adoption while the search is underway to determine where they came from.
"We will do everything in our power to find out who's responsible for this," the animal control shelter said on Facebook.
