New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker and NHPD hold Zoom meeting to discuss the police department's anti-violence efforts.
According to a release, officials are expected to provide updates on recent investigations, including announcement of three non-fatal shooting arrests and drug enforcement arrests.
New Haven PD closed the I-95 southbound 46 off-ramp last Friday morning for a shooting investigation.
According to officials, multiple 911 calls around 3:30 a.m. reported that a person was shot on Sargent Drive.
Upon their arrival, first responders found an unresponsive gunshot victim in the driver’s seat of a SUV in the front parking lot of a gas station at 200 Sargent Drive.
New Haven PD say the victims, a 28-year-old New Haven man, sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for emergency surgery of life threatening injuries.
He remains hospitalized in critical, but stable condition.
NHPD arrested and charged 22-year-old Nick Osario, of New Haven in connection with the shooting.
Officials say it was determined Osario was engaged in gunfire with other parties.
NHPD Major Crimes detectives and Bureau of Identification forensic detectives canvassed the area from Greenwich Avenue to Sargent Drive and located evidence of gunfire was found in the roadway.
Police also responded Sunday night to the scene of a shooting in the Fair Haven neighborhood.

They say that about 7:15 p.m. Sunday, 9-1-1 callers reported gunfire and a person shot in the area of Ferry Street between Limerick Street and Chatham Street.
