EAST LYME, Conn. — A man was arrested on Saturday after stealing over $4,300 worth of pharmacy products, East Lyme police said.
Officers received a report around 2 p.m. about someone shoplifting at the CVS on Chesterfield Road. An individual who matched the description of the suspect was found in the parking lot of the Walgreens store, police said.
The suspect was identified as 50-year-old Arnold Ludd of Brooklyn, New York and had active arrest warrants from Allentown and Bucks County, Pennsylvania, as well as Warren County, New Jersey, and Monroe, Connecticut.
Police determined during the investigation that Ludd had taken about $4,360 worth of Mucinex, Claritin, Zyrtec, Flonase, Allegra and Nexium from inside the Walgreens, which was later recovered by the officers.
Ludd, who provided police with a false name, was arrested on charges of larceny in the 5th degree and interfering with an officer. He was held on a $15,000 bond and expected at New London Superior Court on Monday.
