Local business asking for more help in hurricane relief drive

Ron’s Guns has already brought a tractor-trailer full of donations to North Carolina and is now asking for more help making a return trip.

EAST LYME, Conn. — In southeastern Connecticut, a local business is asking for more help in sending another shipment of relief supplies to storm-battered North Carolina.

Ron’s Guns in East Lyme has been accepting donations for several weeks, already filling up two tractor-trailers to the brim and sending them south.

They are now asking area residents for more help and supplies. 

Organizers are asking for winter items like coats, gloves, boots, hats, hand warmers, tents, sleeping bags, blankets, first aid supplies, food, and water. 

Additionally, they are asking for Kerosene heaters, generators, large and small propane cylinders, pillows, electric heaters, mold remediation chemicals/supplies, dehumidifiers, HEPA filters, bleach, laundry detergent, and shovels. 

Also, Starlinks, generators, nebulizers, radios, chainsaws, hazmat suits, rubber gloves and boots, flashlights, batteries, tools, water test kits, camping stoves, disposable plates, plastic utensils, extension cords, N95 masks, construction trash bags, mops, tarps, fans, goggles, disinfectant wipes, hard hats, carpet knives, and rags. 

They said they are accepting anything people want to donate.

 People can stop by with their donations to the business at 194 Boston Post Road in East Lyme.
