Police said a card skimmer was found on a pin pad at NSA Supermarket in New London.

NEW LONDON, Conn. — Concerns of card skimming continue, as New London police found a card skimmer at one of the registers of a supermarket in the city.

Police recently went around New London inspecting pin pads at retail stores and announced Thursday that a card skimmer was found at the NSA Supermarket at 332 South Frontage Road in New London.

The inspector was able to remove a facsimile plate cover from the pin pad, which revealed the card-reading hardware on the back. Skimmers are used to illegally get credit and debit card information and suspects use the information to then make their own transactions.
