Woman dies after falling in Waterford well

The incident happened on Oct. 17.

WATERFORD, Conn. — A woman in Waterford has died after falling into a well last Thursday. 

Police officials said, "The fire department rescued a female from the well at the rear of 17 Pine St.  The female did die as result of the incident." 

The woman was 52 years old and has not been identified. 

Police were called to the home on Pine Street at approximately 8:19 p.m. last Thursday night, Oct. 17, to help the fire department as they conducted a rescue operation.  Police said that due to the nature of the incident, the Investigative Services Unit responded to the scene and the incident is now under investigation.
