Firefighters were called to 90 North Street just after 1 a.m. for a reported brush fire that spread to Building 5 on the complex.
Police and fire crews worked to evacuate residents of the three-story building as smoke started to fill the hallways.
The fire was under control by around 1:30 a.m.; the only damage was found on the outside of the apartment.
No one was injured and no residents were displaced.
Multiple neighboring fire departments responded to help on the scene and provide station coverage.
