"There's a variety of issues. There are printer issues, some other server issues," said Michael Bzdyra, the state's newest DMV Commissioner. "We know it has been frustrating for them. We appreciate the patience of our customers."
The problems have been similar to those experienced last summer when the DMV underwent computer upgrades over the course of a week. The result being longer lines, crashes, and irate customers.
This week, Bzdyra says he has been in touch with 3M, the contractor for the upgrades, and technicians are at the DMV analyzing each system.
"My goal is to get the customer in and out as quickly as possible and get this rectified," said Bzdyra.
For now, customers are advised to hold off on any non-urgent matters while the issues are addressed or seek alternative locations, such as AAA.
