BLOOMFIELD–Police have issued a silver alert in an effort to try and find a local developmentally disabled girl who may be in some bad company.

Bloomfield Police say that relatives of Sophia Silva, 24, reported on July 21 that they had not seen the woman in Connecticut since May 24, and they were concerned for her well-being.

The relatives say she may be in the company of her boyfriend, Capri Rogers, 28, who is wanted on a misdemeanor arrest warrant from Bloomfield. The charge is not extraditable, so if found he cannot be forced to come back.

Investigators say they think the couple is in Henrico County, Virginia. Relatives saw Sophia last in Hartford in May.

Sophia is described as African-American, 5-foot-4 and about 295 pounds. She has a “V” shaped scar on her back, a scar and mole on her ankle, and a large scar on her thigh, but relatives weren’t sure which side of the body each of these markers were on.

When she was seen in May, Sophia had an afro-style hairdo and piercings in her nose and tongue.

While police say Sophia is developmentally disabled, relatives did not indicate any health risk or danger concerns about her when reporting her missing.
