WINDSOR LOCKS — Ever wish you could simply log onto the computer and get individualized flight updates? Now, you can.
Bradley International Airport has teamed up with a company called TIC to offer automated Twitter responses when asked about specific flight info.
For example, if you were flying to Fort Lauderdale International Airport at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, December 5, on Jet Blue flight 1459, you simply would need to tweet the account, @BDLFlightInfo, your flight number and you’d be registered to receive all flight updates. You can also log on to bradleyairport.com/flights/arrivals or bradleyairport.com/flights/departures and hit the Twitter icon next to your flight.
Based on the account’s history, it seems to respond within about a minute, and provides updates including boarding time, future departure time, notice of departure, arrival time, notice of arrival, and baggage claim information. You can sign up for all flight developments.
So far, the technology has been introduced at Dubai International Airport, Melbourne Airport and London City Airport, but this is the first in the United States.
“We are delighted to have partnered with Bradley International Airport. It is our first U.S. airport, and as a result means we are able to offer our tailored solution to more people than ever before, and further enhance the Airport’s service to its passengers,” Paul Brugger, founder and CEO of TIC said.
“At Bradley International Airport not only do we strive to provide excellent customer service, we also strive to keep up with technology and the changing needs of our passengers. This service is an innovative tool that many of our passengers will benefit from and find helpful,” said Kevin A. Dillon, A.A.E, executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority.
