GROTON — A woman has died after police said her car went into the water off Hel-Cat Fishing Dock Pier.
The Coast Guard confirmed that a car with a woman in it fell into the water of the Thames River around 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. Friends close to the victim later confirmed with FOX 61 she had passed away.
This is in the area of 169 Thames Street near the Puffins Restaurant.
Officials said a woman was pulled from the water after her car was about 20 feet underwater.
