WALLINGFORD — A tractor-trailer driver was cited after the truck he was in was involved in a fiery crash that caused traffic tie-ups Tuesday morning.
State police said Dominique Jenkins was driving when he lost control of the vehicle between Exit 15 and 16 on the Northbound side of the I-91. The truck hit the wire guard rail and a DOT exit sign which broke the trailer and caused the cargo to spill on the ground. The trailer rolled over during the crash and caught fire. Jenkins was able to exit the cab with the help of passers-by and suffered only minor injuries. He was cited for failure to maintain established lane.
Traffic through the area was delayed until the crash was cleared around noon.
