BRIDGEPORT — A Bridgeport Fire Department lieutenant who was arrested for allegedly threatening to kill a Southington High School teacher has been placed on leave.
Police say they seized several guns from Gregory Daly’s Southington home. Daly was arrested Tuesday after allegedly sending a threatening text message to the teacher. Police say Daly also sent threatening texts to his wife.
Daly is charged with threatening, harassment and breach of peace.
Seven Southington schools were placed in a soft lockdown Tuesday morning, meaning people were not allowed inside the buildings.
A Bristol judge on Wednesday set Daly’s bail at $150,000. He’s due back in court on Nov. 4.
If he posts bond, court officials say he’ll need to get treatment for his alcohol problem. His lawyer said he was already in treatment.
