CHESHIRE — One Cheshire family is without a home due to a fire caused significant damage Sunday afternoon.
Cheshire Fire Department, aided by Prospect and Southington fire, responded to a fully involved house fire at 171 Payne Drive around 1 p.m. The house received enough damage for the building official to say it was unsafe to live in.
The family, a mom, dad, and son, have been put up in a hotel by the Cheshire Human Services Department.
No one was injured in the fire except a family cat. The state and Cheshire Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
