HARTFORD — A Connecticut jury has reached a verdict in the retrial of a man charged in the beating deaths of his mother and two houseguests.
They found him guilty on all counts Thursday afternoon, according to Hartford Courant Reporter David Owens.
Deliberations began Wednesday in Hartford Superior Court in the case of Brett Bednarz, whose first trial ended in a hung jury last May. He pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
The bludgeoned bodies of Bednarz's mother, 74-year-old Beverly Therrien, and the two guests — 53-year-old Michael Ramsey and his fiancee, 60-year-old Pamela Johns — were found in Therrien's East Hartford home on Thanksgiving Day 2010.
Prosecutor David Zagaja says Bednarz hated his mother and killed the victims in a fit of rage.
Defense testimony suggested two unknown men seen at Therrien's house the night before the bodies were found may have been involved in the killings.
