SUFFIELD -Officials said a Macdougall-Walker Correctional Institution inmate assaulted a corrections officer Saturday night and the prison was still in lockdown as of Monday morning.
Officials said the assault happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday night.The officer was taken to the hospital and released Sunday. Officials said the inmate was serving a three year sentence for violation of a protective order. The inmate was taken to Northern Correctional Institution.
Prison authorities are investigating.
