NEW CANAAN — Commuters on the Metro-North New Canaan line should expect delays Thursday morning caused by a minor derailment.

Around 7 a.m., a Metro-North train was bumped off the tracks near the New Canaan train station at the Grove Street crossing. Customers should expect delays of up to 60 minutes.

No passengers were on the train at the time. The station is in the center of town, and the line connects in Stamford to the New Haven Line.

Police are assisting with traffic on the area. Southbound commuters can board the train at the Talmadge Hill station near Route 15.

Crews are expected to complete repairs by 11 a.m.
