MIDDLETOWN--A new distribution hub is set to create hundreds of jobs in Connecticut.
On Thursday, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new FedEx Ground distribution center that is being built in Middletown.
The 500,000-square-foot facility will be housed at the former Aetna site.
This will be the second FedEx Ground distribution center in Greater Hartford as the company continues to grow.
Gov. Dan Malloy was on hand to celebrate the event.
"The construction of this new facility represents a strong partnership between the local community and FedEx Ground. Job opportunities for the great workforce in the area, and the continued growth of our facility," said a FedEx Ground executive at the event.
