NASHUA, N.H. — A church in New Hampshire with a rich music ministry is spending a small fortune to renovate its 1926 organ, using the same company that built it nearly 90 years ago.

The First Church in Nashua is investing about $650,000 in its Austin Opus 1406 Anderson Memorial pipe organ, donated to the church by the Anderson family.

The Nashua Telegraph quotes organist and minister of music Joseph Olefirowicz as saying the renovated organ will be played for the congregation on the last Sunday in October — Reformation Sunday.

The work is being done by Austin Organs of Hartford, Connecticut, Inc. – the newest name of the former Austin Organ Company which originally built and placed the instrument in the church in 1926.
