NEW MILFORD–A Connecticut probate court judge was arrested on Monday after getting into a fight.
According to the New Milford Police, officers responded to reports of a fight. The investigation revealed that Martin Landgrebe, 53, of New Milford, had strangled another person during a fight, according to police.
Landgrebe turned himself in to police on Tuesday, and appeared in court Wednesday. He was released on a promise to appear at his next court date, which is scheduled for August 10.
Landgrebe is charged with disorderly conduct and strangulation in the third degree.
According to New Milford’s official town website, Landgrebe has been a probate judge since 1999, and serves the Housatonic Probate District, which serves Bridgewater, Brookfield, New Fairfield, New Milford and Sherman. He previously served the New Milford-Bridgewater district.
