The new XL Center is finally open for business!
The stadium hosted its first sporting event tonight--the Celtics vs. the Knicks in a pre-season game--since its $35 million renovation. New features include a new video scoreboard, a better concourse, new restrooms and locker rooms, plus high-end seating in the lower bowl.
Chris Lawrence, the general manager of the XL Center, said something good about the stadium post-renovations is that it has, "great sight lines for concerts, hockey, basketball."
The Celtics won the stadium's inaugural game 106-86. Beyond the stadium's renovations, the game also featured Derek Fisher's debut as head coach of the Knicks.
