OLD SAYBROOK — One person is dead after a car hit a pedestrian Tuesday night.
Old Saybrook Police were called to the accident on Maple Avenue near Cambridge Court West around 8:11 p.m.
Police said a car was heading southbound on Maple Avenue when the pedestrian was struck and injured.
Edwin Roscoe, 89, of Old Saybrook, was later pronounced dead by physicians at the Middlesex Hospital Shoreline Medical Center.
The driver of the car remained on scene with his vehicle.
No one else was injured in the accident.
The accident remains under investigation.
