WASHINGTON – Perdue Foods is recalling almost 5,000 pounds of chicken nuggets after customers said they found plastic pieces inside the food, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Saturday. The 8-oz. boxes of Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets were made on Sept. 28, 2015.
The chicken nuggets were sold in Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New York, and Texas.
Consumers said they found small, solid, clear plastic inside the nuggets, according to USDA. There have been no reported injuries, but people are advised to toss out the frozen food or return them to the store.
