HARTFORD – The Business Insider has compiled a list of the most elite boarding schools in the United States, factoring in each school’s endowment, acceptance rate, and average SAT scores.

All of their data was taken from a combination of BoardingSchoolReview.com, Niche, and each school’s individual websites.

TBI pulled the top 50 schools, but below are the top Connecticut schools listed, with each school’s corresponding ranking based on the original list.

46. Salisbury School – Salisbury, CT

Average SAT score: 1810

Endowment: $45 million

The all-boys boarding school accepts 37% of its applicants.

37. Miss Porter’s School – Farmington, CT

Average SAT score: 1912

Endowment: $110 million

The all-girls boarding school accepts 48% of its applicants.

35. Suffield Academy – Suffield, CT

Average SAT score: 1910Endowment: $41 million

The co-ed boarding school accepts 29% of its applicants.

22. Westminster School – Simsbury, CT

Average SAT score:1926Endowment: $90 million

The co-ed boarding school accepts 25% of its applicants.

17. The Loomis Chaffee School – Windsor, CT

Endowment: $180 million

The co-ed boarding school accepts 27% of its applicants.

The co-ed boarding school accepts 22% of its applicants.

12. The Hotckiss School – Lakeville, CT

Average SAT score: 1985  

Endowment: $362 million

The co-ed boarding school accepts 21% of its applicants.

9. Choate Rosemary Hall – Wallingford, CT

Average SAT score: 2025  

Endowment: $318 million

The co-ed boarding school accepts 23% of its applicants.
