STAFFORD - A teacher at the Stafford Elementary School was arrested on sexual assault and risk of injury charges stemming from an incident in January.
Todd Kelliher had been on administrative leave since January 23, but was first arrested by State Police on Monday.
School officials say they received reports of inappropriate behavior by Kelleher with male and female students. Officials notified the Department of Children and Families about the incident, along with police, who have been building a case.
In a statement, Patricia Collin, superintendent of Stafford Springs Schools, said, "On a personal note, as your Superintendent, and as a parent myself, I find this matter to be very disconcerting. We will continue to review our current policies and practices to ensure your children's safety in our schools."
Officials confirmed the arrest in a letter to parents on Monday.
