HARTFORD — Voting begins today to name Hartford’s new minor league baseball team. Nearly 6,000 submissions were narrowed down to 10 for your voting.
The New Britain Rock Cats are moving to Hartford next year. With the new city, and new stadium, will also need a new name. A contest was setup to name the team. People had until Friday, Feb. 27 to submit their ideas.

- Hartford Honey Badgers
- Hartford Hound Dogs
- Hartford Praying Mantis
- Hartford River Hogs
- Hartford Screech Owls

The people behind SportsLogos.net reported the list one day early. The new team will play at the Downtown North stadium that will sit between I-84 and I-91 in Hartford. Construction began on the new ballpark last month. It’s set to open in April 2016.
