COLCHESTER — A tractor-trailer accident overturned on Rt. 2 Eastbound Friday morning.
The truck carrying frozen food overturned about 3 a.m. between Exits 19 and 21 in Colchester.
As he approached the Rt. 2 – Rt. 11 split, the driver lost control and struck a DOT sign according to police. The truck then rolled over and sustained significant damage to the front end, and undercarriage.
The highway was closed for several hours while the scene was being cleared.
The truck was carrying frozen food and the Department of Consumer Protections is investigating. DEEP was called to the scene for a fuel spill.
