NEW HAVEN — Police in New Haven are investigating a double homicide after two people were gunned down late last night.
Police responding to an area of Dewitt Street near Spring and Putnam Streets after receiving a 911 call just before 10:45
Upon arrival, police found two men in the street who were shot multiple times in the chest. The victims were identified as Tyree McCrea, 36, of New Haven who was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he died about an hour later, and Dyshant Levi McLean, 25 of Hamden whowas pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police believe the victims were targeted and that the shootings were not random. Police are searching for the shooter.
